Stephen Barnes is a local artist who, disillusioned with the commission charged by galleries, decided to open his own in order to display his own work in oils, watercolours and pastels.
Self-taught, Stephen studied for some years in France, and has been painting professionally for most of his working life.
His work has been exhibited all over the United Kingdom, and in France, Canada and the United States. His paintings have found their way to Hungary, New Zealand and Switzerland.
Studio 13 also provides a showcase forum for local artists and for Stephen himself to exhibit unique and contemporary artwork in a relaxed and informal setting.
With the artist permanently “in residence” at Studio 13, Stephen can bring many years’ experience to bear in choosing the right frame and mount board for that special picture..
