Here we see an example where the canvas is a fine weave linen duck canvas ( hard to come by a fine weave).

It is first sized with rabbit skin Glue and then given one coat of white gesso.

Canvas Stretching

It is then stretched on to good quality robust stretcher bars.

Then given a 2nd coat of gesso (a lengthy process that is all hand done).
